Autonoumous Robotics Classes

I am considering running a 2 part “Start Here” autonomous robotics class based on the LMR start here robot except it will use an Arduino instead of Picaxe.

The first class will cover building the base robot to be extended on in the second class and basic object avoidance.

The second class will cover basic navigation and mapping using dead reckoning.

The classes will be followed be a small competition evening a few weeks later to allow people to "show off" what they have learned and how they have built on it.

The initial set of hardware will include (Bulk prices will probably be cheaper):

2 x Gear Motor 9 w/Traction Wheel $35

SRF02 Low cost ultrasonic range finder $30 or Sharp GP2D120 $25

Any left over funds will be donated to the Sydney Hacker Space initiative.
